Recession Proof – What State are You in? Daily Inspiration #5
Anais Nin said:
Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.
So today I’m going to ask you “What state are you living in?”
As a global nomad who has lived on three continents and a dozen cities over the years, I’ve had to change my state many times. Change isn’t easy and living in foreign countries is a challenge many don’t have the pleasure of experiencing, and while I recommend it, it’s not for everyone.
But the kind of change I speak about is your state of mind.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve worked myself into some really fine states over the years. Anger, resentment, guilt, frustration, self-worth, depression, destruction…the list goes on.
Right now, there are a lot of reasons why your state of mind is unbalanced. The economy is in ruins, we have the highest unemployment rate ever (according to the latest news), and there are a plethora of unsettled and confusing states that are going bankrupt and have no idea how to make things work.
But having the right state of mind is critical if we are to be recession proof – move forward with confidence, with hope for the future, and to live our best life now. Learning how to see beyond the present catastrophes and set goals to improve the quality of our life is more critical now than ever. The gift of the moment is that we have enormous potential and opportunity to change things for the better. Are you ready?
