What does freedom mean to you?

For many people it means freedom from money woes, freedom from domination by other people, freedom from chaos, freedom to travel the world or have anything you want.

But there is another freedom far more important that worldly possessions, or experiences. There is a freedom that is so absolute it can give someone hope in the most desperate of circumstances.

Viktor Frankl, author of Man’s Search for Meaning and holocaust survivor said this:

The last of the human freedoms is to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances

Our attitude determines everything in life. Whether it is the worst or the best is all determined by how we choose to face it. We can live our lives in fear, or we can choose to go beyond it. We can choose to be limited by our circumstances or we can choose to find another way of approaching it, and thus create a freedom from limitation.

Viktor Frankl saw first hand the worst that can happen to man when his liberty is taken away and he is reduced to less than human by other human beings. Then, you have a choice to accept or refuse the indignities. Frankl chose to view his experiences through a philosophical lens, and ultimately came to know that love lurked in the most awful places because it was inside of him.

Your attitude speaks volume about how you will handle the challenges in your life.

Choose the life YOU want. It is Yours. You OWN it. No one else does.

Learning how to adopt a different attitude is the key to creating your best life now.
