Are you living authentically?

I’d like to do small survey, which is ongoing, so feel free to respond whenever you read this post.

  • Living authentically is the goal of anyone’s life.  We want to be true to who we are, and we want to create a life we can be proud of.  It means living your own life, on your own terms. Living with your own values and needs, and not being afraid to make mistakes, because they are the seeds from which you can grow stronger.
  • Living authentically means you are persistent in building your dream. You hold fast to the goals you have set for yourself and are willing to change when necessary.
  • Living authentically means you respect others and they respect you for what you hold true.
  • Living authentically means you are grateful for every experience and opportunity that comes your way.
  • Living authentically means you embrace and love who you are without apology.  It also means you can love and hold dear the lives of others for what they contribute to your life.

If this is not how you feel, ask yourself “what would it take for me to be that way?”  If you feel you are not achieving all you want in life, what is holding you back?

So here’s a few questions to ponder:

  • Are you authentic in your every day actions at work/at home?
  • Do you consider yourself accountable, capable and able no matter what the activity?
  • Are you fearless in sharing what you know to be true regardless of the situation?
  • Do you feel empowered and valued at work and at home?
  • Are you able to have honest self-reflection about your strengths and weaknesses?
  • Do you have a clear sense of direction and purpose?

If you answered yes to all of the above, then you’re living authentically. You feel good about who you are and where you are going.

If you have a mixture of yes and no’s, there is still some confusion about who you think you are, and how you are living your life, but you are heading in the right direction. You will move quicker with some guidance and accountability.

If you have a majority of No’s, then consider getting support to help you define and move forward towards your goals.
