We all hold onto stuff that should have been thrown out years ago.
We struggle with trying to manage our family, work, commitments, responsibilities and obligations. Call it what you will, we bury ourselves in shoulda, woulda, coulda’s and forget that this very moment is where the magic happens.
Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time recently taking out more of the garbage in my life; de-cluttering the cupboards of my psyche, and gaining more confidence as a result.
Call it whatever you want, it’s the clutter of our life that holds us back from living our best life now.
Does this resonate with you? Are you willing to try something different?
What would your life look like if you took out the garbage and made room in the cupboards of your psyche?
In order to feel more confident you need to start taking a close look at what’s in the cupboard.
Ask yourself:
- What are you putting up with in your life?
- What is unfinished in your life?
- What really matters to you?
Putting up with it!
- Make a list of 10 things that you are putting up with at home
- Make a list of 10 things that you are putting up with at work
- Make a list of 10 things that you are putting up with in any other area of your life
- Make an action plan to get rid of/communicate these things that you have been putting up with
- Make a resolution that you will no longer accept things that don’t work for you.
Unfinished business!
- Make a list of things that are unresolved/unfinished in your life then take action to remove the obstacles that stop you from completing things.
- Clear the air with the people you have unspoken issues with. Life is too short!
- Call or email someone you said you would reach out to but have not. Do it today.
- Let go of as many coulds, woulds, shoulds, maybe, oughts as you can. Write these down.
What really matters?
- Write down the 4 most important values in your life.
- Then ask yourself if your life reflects them.
- If not, what do you have to do to start living up them.
- List 5 people you admire the most. What values do they have?
- How can you incorporate these values into your life?
By taking out the garbage, clearing the clutter from the cupboard, new opportunities will appear that will bring you greater confidence and move you closer to your goals.
