SOCIAL NETWORKING – The Wave of the Future
I’ve just spent the last three days totally absorbed in social networking thanks to a great new coaching program called Stompernet. If you haven’t already caught the fever on this, then think about it. Facebook, Myspace, Squidoo, Srcibd, Ecademy, LinkedIn, and on and on and on…….There are literally thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of social networking sites, and I’ve just added my name to a lot of them. The goal is to find greater visibility on the internet, because unless you’ve been hiding in a cave, you might as well be given the amount of traffic that’s out there.
If you want to know more about what Social Networking even is check out this video by one of my favorite youtube channels: Social Networking in Plain English
Squidoo is a very cool site. You get to build yourself a webpage. Mine is Fearlessly Speaking and you can have as many as you like.
I also liked Scribd because I could publish a lot of the pieces I’ve written and repurpose them again. Like this for example: How Being Fearless Can Actually Improve Your Health
The whole gist of this is that if you are building a business on the internet then you have to get noticed, and with the amount of competition out there, you have to do some fancy footwork.
Now, I’m not selling a whole lot of tangible products at this moment, so I’m just trying to get my name established. That’s why I’m blogging too, because that’s the other side of this coin.
It’s all about exposure! I live in New York and it’s freezing outside! So how do we keep ourselves warm. By doing what I’m doing now. Writing, posting, spending hours on the sites figuring out how to do it right. Then came Stompernet. I think this program is going to knock my socks off, and I’ll be spending a lot more time on the internet than I’ve ever done before. But I’m meeting some very cool people and I’m finding all kinds of possibilities for joint ventures and support.
For those of us who spend way too much time in front of the computer and not enough time with our family or in the world outside, this is critical. In fact, I’ve met more interesting people online than I ever do on the street, and I’m in New York! I guess I lead a sheltered life!
So if you’re thinking of building a business, no matter what it is, or you have a message you want to share, get networking. You’ll be amazed at what you will do.
All the best
