Why are women not taking stronger leadership positions?

Too many women are not taking the lead in their organizations. In  conversations with hundreds of women, I have found that the greatest obstacle to progress is lack of confidence.

Women remain silent during meetings, and don’t express their opinions. They don’t negotiate their salaries to the fullest extent, and they don’t set boundaries in a clear and concise manner.  For many there is a fear of failure, and resistance to risk, which results in their inability to set meaningful goals, and their ability to communicate needs and wants clearly is compromised.

To create a strong culture of cooperation and achievement, it is essential that women are given the opportunity to develop the confidence to think freely, speak honestly, and take reasonable risks to reach their goals, and it is paramount to success within any organization.
